Advanced Functionality

The power-reserve indicator at 2 o’clock provides a visual gauge of the energy remaining in the mainspring, ensuring optimal winding. The function indicator at 4 o’clock, styled like a car’s gearbox, clearly identifies the crown’s current position (Winding, Neutral, Hand-setting). A free-sprung balance with variable inertia guarantees superior chronometric reliability over extended periods, even when subjected to shocks or movement handling. The fast-rotating barrel increases performance by reducing internal mainspring adhesion, maintaining a superior power/performance ratio.

Holistic Design Philosophy

The design and execution of the RM 17-01 follow a holistic approach, where the movement, case, and dial are conceived in complete harmony, much like the chassis and engine of a Formula 1 car. The movement is mounted on chassis mounting rubbers (ISO SW) and fixed with grade 5 titanium screws, eliminating the need for a traditional casing ring. The torque-limiting crown adds a layer of security, preventing accidental overwinding and protecting the integrity of the movement.
